Emotional Support
for Yourself
Support FAMADA offers family members
One-to-one emotional support
We support family members through one-to-one sessions online. Please note we offer emotional support, psychoeducation and understanding of domestic abuse. This is not a counselling service.
The sessions are led by you as the client. However, the support in the sessions can include:
- Understanding domestic abuse
- Safety planning
- Barriers to leaving
- Boundaries
- Self-care
If you would like support, please complete the contact us form on the Contact Us page for an initial phone call and to join our waiting list.
The service is free, if you are in the position to make a donation to support other family members, please do so. However it is not a requirement to access support.
Please note that this is a service for family members and we do not work with victims or survivors of domestic abuse directly.
Look after yourself
You may be in this situation for the long haul. It can be very draining. One of the best ways you can support your loved one is by looking after your own wellbeing and taking a break now and again to get your energy back. Seek support from your GP and other mental health professionals if it’s impacting your own mental health.
